SEO Tips to Increase Web Site Traffic
There are two primary aspects to search engine optimization. Onsite
optimization and offsite optimization. Onsite methods consist of the
wording and structure of your Web site. The offiste part is all about
getting links to your site. The search engines, particularly,
Google , judge the value of a Web site by the number and the "authority
of the sites linking to it.
Let's address the onsite portion first since you really need to do that
type of search engine optimization first anyway. Not only that, the
onsite work is the easiest. Here is the short and simplified
version of what you want to do, but if you do just this you are going
to be ahead of most Webmasters.
Decide on a primary keyword phrase for each page of your site. There
are plenty of tools to help you find keywords that people are searching
for and that you have a chance of ranking well for. Also choose some
related keywords. Create good content and use the your primary keyword
in the title and in most paragraphs on the page. Try to average
about 400 words per page and end up with a keyword density
of two to four percent. Include your related
keywords a couple times on the page and close to the primary keywords
when possible.
If you want to magnify your efforts and do the most to increase Web
site traffic you will want to create hubs of related content which
focus on the same keywords or related keywords. This will
help convince the search engines that your site has lots of information
about the keywords and it will also keep users happy.
For offsite optimization you want to work on getting links from other
sites and whenever possible you want those links to contain your
keywords. Try to get links to all of your pages not just the home page.
There are many ways to go about getting links and you can learn more
about how and were to get links to increase Web site traffic
in the free volumes offered above.
