Link building will always be top of most peoples lists either for SEO purposes or to attract targeted traffic. From experience there are 5 methods which come to mind for effective link building and I will try to explain each one in detail giving you examples along the way so you can easily start building good strong links in no time.
Social Bookmarking
Social bookmarking is probably one of the best methods for instant targeted traffic and instant seo links. The good thing about social bookmarking is you are able to produce a link with only a couple of clicks and with that one link you are able to promote your keyterm for the selected page and get a stream of targeted visitors. Over time you will be able to find your own social bookmarking sites to submit to but to start you off digg.com and reddit.com are great sites.
Article Marketing
Article marketing is another really effective method of producing long term traffic and more seo links. When writing your article you must make it as informative, interesting or as educational as possible, articles that are poorly written or have a strong sales pitch wont go far and will be a waste of your time. Articles with good content will be published by more website owners and the chances of them linking back to it is fairly high. With most article sites you are allowed to embed 3 links within the content and if you use your search engine terms the more articles that are published the higher up the search engine rankings you will go.
Press Releases
Press release sites are mainly used for really important information about your website or product, if you use press releases sites to inform people of unique services or products you will get a massive response from them. Even if you don’t have something unique to talk about press release sites are still good for creating inbound seo links and small amounts of targeted traffic. There’s a free press release site called free-press-release.com which has a got reputation and is favored highly by google.
Link Bait
You have probably heard the term “link bait ” a lot and this is probably the best and most effective form of promotion at the moment. Even though it is the best method it is actually one of the hardest, with link bait instead of you looking for sites to link back to you due to your content you will have sites wanting to link to you without any work on your par. A good example of link bait is a unique product, video, picture or something controversial. If you write a really good article then you can see what happens to it as if it is really good people will be linking back and mentioning your article giving you good quality inbound links.
Directory Submissions
Even though directory submissions are old news they are still just as good as what they were when they originally appeared on the Internet. Due to the vast amount of directories it can be hard finding good quality ones and can even take months to just compile a small list of 100 top quality directories. What makes directories useful is partly down to the amount of directories around, with whats on offer you are able to promote as many keyterms as you like to thousands of different directories.
