How I Use Free Advertising Sites to Get Traffic
March 1st, 2009
Ok, so I feel a little silly using these free advertising forum sites. But the truth is I’ve found that they actually do bring consistent traffic and sometimes even a few sales.
Many of these free online advertising sites get tons of traffic. So if you get in the habit of posting to them regularly, you ads will certainly at least get seen, and you just might be a little shocked at the results.
Other than writing killer ad copy, there are no big secrets to making it work, but here are a few little tricks I use to maxmize my results:
First of all, if the forum allows it, I always make a “mega-thread.” This just means that I make a thread with one of my ads in it, and then I keep coming back and replying to that same thread over and over again with the same ad or a similar one. This automatically sends it to the top of the forum which is where you ads really get seen. On top of that, this type of thread will amass the most views and contain the most replies as compared with the plain old regular threads. It then has the appearance of great popularity.
Another thing I do is always give my own threads a five-star rating which provides instant credibility.
And lastly, I also reply to popular threads that others have posted using my own ads and gaining even more exposure.
I find that the only thing that it takes to be successful when posting to free advertising forums, is to come up with good ad copy and the just keep attacking the forums, posting my ads again and again whenever time permits. There is automatic forum posting software that makes it breeze too. Otherwise it can be a little boring and tedious. However, if you don’t want to use software to post ads, you can used tabs in your browser and keeps a bunch of tabs open with all of your forums.
I also post to the free classfieds sites along with the free ads forums that I post to. Again a few of these classifieds sites also have big traffic. They might as well be looking at your advertisement.
There’s something else to consider here too. These sites actually do count for having backlinks as far as the search engines go. These are not necessarily the most high-value links you can get of course, but they sure beat having no backlinks when your site is new or you are just getting started. The bigger ones seem to get spidered constantly. So using anchors with good keywords for your links can’t hurt a bit.
One final thing to think about: Though I’ve never tried it myself, I’ve often that if you get some profitable tactics going with the free ad sites and get a little system down, you could then outsource the posting and really dominate these sites. There’s no shortage of low-cost virtual assistants and freelancers eager to this type of thing. Food for thought anyway.

Free Ads Can Bring Traffic and Sales
February 20th, 2009
Many webmasters will tell you that the days of free advertising on the Internet are long gone. While it’s probably true that paid advertising is more effective, free advertising is far from dead.
There are many forms of free advertising, such as forum signatures, viral ebooks, and article marketing, which is indeed proof that free advertising is not dead. In this article however, we will just be looking at a simple and easy method, that of using free ads forums and classified advertising sites.
When it comes to placing free ads, it’s largely just a numbers game. The more ads you have circulating, the better the results. And there are tons of sites where you can place ads. The great thing about free advertising sites is that most will allow you to post your ads over and over. A lot of free ads forums make so you move your ad to the top with just a quick reply.
It’s easy to find sites to post your free ads. You can use Google or basically any search engine to do searches for terms such as free ads, free classifieds, free advertising forums, etc.
In order for free advertising to work, you have to keep doing it consistently. If you track your results, you’ll quickly learn which sites and what times are the most effective for placing ads. Knowing the best places to post your ads makes things a lot easier and saves time as well.
In the end, your offer will largely affect your success when it comes to free advertising campaigns. Advertising something that has wide appeal and is also free, will likely yield the best results. Offering something that would appeal to other advertisers and webmasters is a good thing, because those are the people that spend the most time at free ad sites. If you are offering something related to advertising, particularly free advertising, your ad will very likely be successful.
While posting free ads may not be the most effective traffic generator, it can certainly be effective enough to start pulling in some good targeted traffic, especially if you make the effort to do it on a consistent basis. And combining this method with other forms of free advertising, such as using forum signatures, social bookmarks, submitting articles, etc., it is quite possible to get a brand new or unnoticed site off ground in just a few short months.

7 Proven Traffic Tips
January 21st, 2009
Using Tutorials to drive traffic
Creating tutorials for popular software such as Adobe Photoshop is an easy way to drive traffic. Where should your tutorials for Adobe Photoshop be submitted.
Using Stumbleupon to drive traffic
Signing up is fast and easy, and its free. It will bring a bit of traffic, but not a lot. It will however help to bring in new visitors, and the benefit of getting visitors from Stumbleupon is that people who are “stumbling” are interested in finding new content, and unless your site design is totally hopeless, most “stumblers” will hang around for a minute or two, trying to discover what exactly your homepage is about.
Using RSS feeds to drive traffic
A classic approach has always been to publish your RSS to drive traffic, but there are created thousands of new blogs each day, and your content will immediately disappear in the mass of information published. Submit to them all, and remember to lower your expectations of traffic directly from this.
Using niche sites to drive traffic
Posting to specific sites containing your topic will increase traffic, for a while. Several sites have the option where you can submit news items to their front page, but mostly people would complain if you are simply self-promoting without your information being particular new or interesting. www.stylegala.com drove a lot of traffic to my site early on, but their policies changed, so I stopped posting to that homepage.
Using Digg to drive traffic
A common known effect of Digg is known as the Digg Effect (also known as the Slashdot effect). This is what happens if a particular site is submitted to Digg, Slashdot or Fark or any similar type of site, and receive so much traffic their server simply gives up. This seldom happens, but the effect cannot be underestimated. You will receive a least a little amount of visitors if your submission is at least a little bit interesting, and you will also gain a backlink to your homepage.
Using forums /BBS’s to drive traffic
A quick way to drive traffic to your homepage is to become engaged in various forums regarding your specific niche. Do a search on Google for your particular area in which your homepage refers to, and become a member of the first 10 forums you encounter. Here you sign up and create a signature for every post you make, with a nice description and link back your homepage. Do not simply comment on everything just to get a link to your homepage.
A lot of forum links can help your rankings very quickly unless they have added rel=nofollow to external links. They share their high PR with all other external links, and the benefits from a SEO perspective might be limited, but the traffic driven will be very targeted and relevant and should convert a lot better.
Using link directories to drive traffic
Now, this is not in any way a new nor novel idea to drive traffic. In fact, it propably wont bring you traffic at all, except for the occasional search from a search engine. Finding a list of link directories and then start submitting can take some time, but every link counts in the fight for the coveted top #1 position.

How Would You Like to Get 1000 Visitors A Day?
January 19th, 2009
The number one question that most webmasters pose is “how do I get more web traffic?”. Let’s say that you are into Internet Marketing and you’ve got a brand new Web site. You’ll find tons of books for sale on the Internet about how to increase your Web Traffic in 30 days, etc. Don’t waste your money, most of that information is not worth perusing.
Web Traffic Optimization
- If you don’t have your site optimized for your primary keyword you’re just wasting your time.
- Be sure to put your primary keyword for every page in the title tag.
- Is very important that your pages are optimized for your keywords and that you take the time to do it properly.
Obtaining links from other authority websites that already have lots of web traffic is important. You’ve got to get backlinks from other Web sites in order to get indexed by the search engines. Consider this, how are the search engine spiders going to find your site pages if there are no links pointing to them?
I know, you built your site and they haven’t come yet, and they won’t come unless you do certain things. It’s not easy, but you have to have a little patience. It may take several weeks for your site to be listed in Google, MSN, and Yahoo, which are the engines you will get most of your web traffic from. During that time period you should be busy getting links to your site. Writing new articles is an effective way of getting links.
Getting links can be automatic in some cases. You can sign up with a free service like Linkmetro and get backlinks from other web sites automatically. I’ve found that you will get a lot of links from sites that have no pagerank when you go this route. Another, way is to put a linking script on your server so that webmasters can trade links with you without you having to do anything. I prefer this method.
4 Web Traffic Tips
- Another neat way to get links is to join forums that you have an interest in and start participating.
- Don’t make the mistake of joining a group and try to sell something in your first post.
- Contribute to the forum and your sales posts will be accepted later.
- Be certain to put your URL in your signature so you’ll get a link back to your site.
After you have been getting links for a while you will want to start looking to see exactly how many links you have. An super easy way to do this is to go to a major search engine and type in links:yourdomain-com. This works for most search engines and will alert you if your link activities are working.
Your biggest roadblock to getting web traffic to your site is information overload. After you have been on the web for a while your inbox on your email program will begin to fill up with offer after offer. You’ll be tempted to purchase them all and what will happen is that you end up studying and reading all the time instead of working. Remember this and you’ll do alright. Always do the most important thing to get web traffic every day.
