3 Easy Link Building Methods
September 22nd, 2009
If you’ve been blogging for a while now, you’re probably wondering about what backlinks are, and how they can help your blog make money online or sell products more effectively. Backlinks, which are also called “incoming links”, are links to your blog or blog pages that are put up on another blog or website. If a fellow blogger puts up a link that directs his readers to your site, that in itself counts as a backlink.
Sounds simple enough, right? But as unassuming as these backlinks are, they actually play a major role in boosting your site’s rankings in Google and other major search engines. In fact, these search engines will judge your site according to the number of backlinks that are credited to your site. The more backlinks you have, the higher your ranking will ultimately be. Between two blogs posts that deal with the same niche, and everything else being equal, the blog post with the higher number of backlinks will rank higher in Google’s search results for the same keyword relevant to both posts than the blog post with fewer incoming links.
You also have to know that backlinks are better if they contain a keyword that’s already targeted by your blog. You also have to know about “anchor text”, which is basically a backlink that contains your targeted keywords. These kinds of backlinks have a stronger pull on Google, so aim to get more of these, as well. Here are some of the ways by which you can start getting backlinks and blogging more profitably:
1. Comment on other blogs:
The best way to introduce yourself to other bloggers is by posting comments on their entries. Of course, you shouldn’t just post any comment for the sake of putting up one. Instead, leave a thoughtful comment that’s relevant to the post in question, and don’t forget to include your URL at the bottom of your comment. If you want to take things a step further, use your targeted keyword as your username, which will also be linked back to your own blog.
2. Hop onto forum boards:
Forum boards are also a great way to create backlinks for yourself. Be a member of a forum board that deals with your blog’s chosen niche, and set out to be an active poster in various discussions. Always be courteous and informative in your posts, since forum boards are also notorious hotbeds for online brawls. Be friendly with everyone, and don’t forget to sneak in your blog’s URL (and keywords, if possible) on your signature.
3. Link baiting:
Link baiting is the practice of writing about hot news or controversial topics about the niche that your blog is focused on. If you can pounce on breaking news about your niche and write a really good entry about that topic, you’re bound to get some people linking back to you. This method’s a little trickier (because you’ll have to work at making your post unique and special), but it’s very good at making a lasting impression on your blog readers and visitors. Just make sure your title of your post contains the keyword that you’re targeting as it’ll be easy for webmasters to copy that as the anchor text for their backlinks to your blog post.
As you can see, getting more backlinks isn’t the hardest thing to do. Just don’t neglect the part about dishing out good content that will impress readers and keep them coming back to your site. In the end, there’s still no better way to promote yourself – and getting backlinks – than by writing great posts that your visitors will remember you for as you make money blogging.

You Really Should Know About SEO
May 21st, 2009
Studies show that over 90% of all online users use search engines to find what they are looking for, whether products/services, or just plain old information.
The following twelve points will, I hope, summarize a philosophy, approach and methodology to the search engine optimization question which is both sound and effective, along with giving some helpful insight into the industry itself.
1. Content. Content. Content. Effective, professional, optimized Copywriting is the single, most important factor in any SEO campaign. Search engines index sites based on content found on every page of the site. With a thorough understanding of the language and grammatical conventions combined with intensive research, to find and exploit the market focus, one can move a website to the upper echelon of the “SERP’s” (Search Engine Results Page) in a methodical as well as ethical manner.
2. Analyze Web Logs. Measure everything, at least twice, and then check again. While I would be the first to say that many of the procedures that make up website optimization are more art than science, one needs to take a very scientific approach to the results of the effort. This is done by methodically keeping a record of, and making an analysis of the sites web logs.
3. No one can guarantee the number one Google or other search engines. Those who promised to do miracles or to optimize search terms such vague phrases (for example, “green development of small tools and small purple and ice”), any person who may be looking for, or making a false claim, they do not intend to allow, Otherwise, they have an inside edge of things in Google, they will be loose, quick and honest people, find it in Google.
4. Some things are just plain silly. You do not need to submit your site to 50,000 search engines. Businesses which offer this service are suspect, at best. 85% of the search results on the Internet come from one search engine, which, if you have one link from an established website, or better yet, a directory, will find your site just fine, on it’s own.
5. search eninge optimization is not Pay-per-Click. While no one would argue the effectiveness of getting increased traffic and sales, through a well planned, pay-per-click campaign, the fact remains that the conversion rates are generally low and they cease the moment the “pay” stops. With a well planned and executed SEO services campaign, while results may take a bit longer, they continue to produce, and in fact grow, long after the work is done and paid for.

Yahoo Search Engine optimization
April 21st, 2009
Why Optimize for Yahoo? According to recent study, all of the searches done through search engines, around 25% of searches are done through Yahoo. That means, if your site is not coming up on Yahoo, you lose 25 percent of your potential visitors. Until February 2004, Yahoo used Google results. So, Google optimizing was enough to get a top rank on Yahoo. As of 17th February 2004 , Yahoo dropped Google results and instead showed search results using Inktomi algorithm. Yahoo’s shift made optimizing for Yahoo inevitable.
The New Yahoo Search Engine Although Inktomi / Yahoo search algorithm doesn’t differ too much from that of Google’s, it is not exactly a clone of Google’s algorithm. From the search result on yahoo, it seems yahoo’s new algorthm gives much importances to key phrase density in body test, title and meta tags, ect. Therefore, concentrating on those two items will definitely increase your website’s ranking on Yahoo.
Search engine optimization Keyword Density The new Yahoo search engine gives more importance to keyword density. A site with high key phrease density may fare well in Yahoo. The average keyword counts that seem to work are as follows:
Title Tag - 15% to 20%: Yahoo displays the title tag content in its result page. Therefore, write the title as a readable sentence. A catchy title will attract the reader to come to your Website. Body Text - 3%: Boldfacing the keywords sometimes boosts the page’s ranking. But, be careful not to be awkward to the readers. Too much of boldfaced content irritates readers. META Tags - 3%: In META description and Keyword tags, provide important keywords at the beginning. Do not use the keywords repeatedly in the Keyword tag, because Yahoo may consider it Spamming. Write the description tag in header in a readable sentence.
Inbound Links/Back Links Yahoo considers inbound links highly important. Inbound links are the links from other sites pointing to your site. Having considerable links, with appropriate link texts, from quality sites increases your site’s ranking in Yahoo.
Static Pages VS Dynamic Pages sam as most other search engines Yahoo prefers static pages to dynamic pages. Sometimes, Yahoo may fail to index dynamic pages. Therefore, consider the following tips to ensure that Yahoo indexes all your web pages:
Have static pages with keyword-rich content; it increases the rank of your site on Yahoo If you have some important dynamic pages, prepare a site map or quick links section with links to all the Web pages. This would help the Yahoo spider to craw all your pages. Frames for most of the search engines, particularly Yahoo , hates frames. Avoid using frames on your site, as Yahoo spider also most search engine’s spiders find it difficult to crawl them.
The sure-shot solution to rank high on yahoo is simply getting plenty of back links from quality sites, and then having copious keywords in the title, META, body text, and alt tags. Because Yahoo holds the 25% share of the Internet search users, it is prudent to have your Web pages optimized for Yahoo. When your Web page ranks high on Yahoo, you get additional traffic that will convert into increased sales.

4 Things to consider when you want to increase website traffic
April 19th, 2009
The Increase Website Traffic Tips revealed here in this article are so {basic|fundamental} you’ll kick yourself for not knowing them sooner.
So here are what I consider the 4 most important tips that will increase website traffic for you:
1- Picking a niche that has a lot of interest.
The right nich eis important because you want a niche that is already geared to get a lot of traffic, or is already receiving a lot of interest. Most people think there’s umlimited traffic in the internet business opportunities niche, but they couldn’t be more worng…
So picking a topic that is already getting large volumes of traffic is a sure-fire way to divert some of that pre-existing traffic to your sites.
#2 and #3 Make sure there is a marrying together of the only 2 elements that really matter.
Yes, be happily married by having your on-page optimization helping out the off-page optimization factors that affect how much traffic you could be getting with higher rankings in the search engines.
Doing the on-page SEO for your sites is important and helpful for effective web site building.
Off-page optimization can mean a couple of things, the first of which is the potential traffic to be had in a niche. The other way to increase website traffic via off-page optimization factors is getting people to link back to your site naturally, and the best way to do that is to write good content.
#4- Good content has been, and will always be the best way to get traffic to your site, and nowadays engaging your visitors makes them sticky visitors, too.
It may seem like a lot of effort, but in the long run quality article son your sites is the most natural way to get noticed by the search engines, because other people will bokmark on the browsers or even socal bookmark good content to make it go viral.

8 Steps to Search Engine Optimize Your Pages
April 19th, 2009
There are a number of steps I always follow when optimizing a site for SEO (note these are just the high points, there are others that I don’t mention here, but these WILL take you a long way):
1) If it's a new site, I will include the keywords in a non hyphenated domain name (if you can get a .edu or .gov Top Level Domain do so, otherwise a cheap .info will work just fine)
2) I like to rename the URL to each money page to include the main keyword for that page.
3) Implement Google Analytics for the site and ensure the tracking script is added to every page (if not already done).
4) Go through the "money" pages and make sure that the title, meta descriptions and meta keywords tags are different and optimized for the keywords on the page. In a competitive niche (over 1 million result pages in Google), I would limit the keywords to one main phrase, a couple of local modifiers and one or two more closely related terms per page.
5) Go through the non-money pages (i.e. pages you don't care about from an SEO perspective) and ensure the title and meta description tags are not duplicates of any of the money page tags. Google Webmaster tools will identify this for you once your site has been crawled.
6) I nofollow any links to overhead pages from all of the pages on the site other than the home page. I leave the home page links as follow links, since I want the SEs to index all pages on the site and having privacy, contact, disclaimer, etc overhead pages enhance Google's view of the "trust" for the site. On all other pages I want only the link to the home page to be a follow link, so I can build up the page rank of the home page. I handle this in Dreamweaver by using two different site templates, one for the home page and one for the rest of the pages on the site. If your main keyword page is something other than the home page, modify your approach accordingly.
7) I then optimize each page's content for it's main keyword, etc. It's important that each word or phrase used in the keyword META is found somewhere on the page to avoid keyword spam penalties.
At this point the on page optimization is complete enough to start with link building. In case you were wondering, link building is tough. I use articles, blog posts, submit forms on relevant sites, reciprocal links, etc. There are ways to short cut this process, without going black or grey hat. organic seo for website optimization
April 10th, 2009
SEO organic methods take more work from the individual, but is a safer and, in the end, more effective way to optimize a web site for search engines. While search engine optimization is a very important aspect to any online business’ marketing plan, it’s become increasingly standardized and mechanized! In the following paragraphs, you’ll find a few easy ways to use this type of search engine optimization.
You’re no doubt familiar with the basic concepts of search engine optimization, but are you familiar with SEO organic methods? While search engine optimization is a very important aspect to any online business’ marketing plan, it’s become increasingly standardized and mechanized. Many SEO services and applications simply use the same basic plan to enhance a web site’s search engine rankings.
This has led to a lot of marketers using nasty search engine optimization methods to get results. These types of methods can be great for generating traffic, but in the end they make the Internet an uglier place. These methods, known as “Black Hat” SEO methods, are just a bad idea. Not only do they frustrate potential users of your web site, they may not even work forever…
You see, Google and other search engines are constantly looking for ways to defeat Black Hat SEO techniques. If their efforts are successful – and really it’s just a matter of time before they are – your time and money may be wasted. Why spend money on search engine optimization that could be useless in just a few months? Worse yet, search engines aren’t just knocking these sorts of sites down in rank; they’re totally removing them from search results.
Some of these Black Hat methods include using cheap labor or robots to perform a number of tasks. For instance, sometimes these services will sign up to tons of forums and or social networking sites and simply spam the link to a site everywhere possible. This is a definite annoyance for many webmasters, who end up with sites cluttered in meaningless links.
Link farms are another common type of Black Hat SEO. These sites are knockoffs of legit online directories, and are packed with links, many of which lead to very poor web sites. Some of them just link back and forth between each other and the link site, causing users to get lost in a sea of useless information. SEO organic techniques can be a great alternative to some of these Black Hat search engine optimization plans.
The main thing that people associate with web sites is their domain names. Domain names that feature the keywords that your website is targeting are a great start to organic SEO. Another, related, search engine optimization idea is to customize your web site’s title the same way: feature the keywords that your site targets. Both of these elements are factors that search engines use to rank a site.
There are many more ways to optimize a site with an SEO organic plan. But this information at:< href=”http://www.taylor-made-traffic.com/index.html”>website-optimization. And the tips in this article will get you started.
