How to Boost Traffic to Your Blog
June 27th, 2009
At one point in your life as a blogger, you’ll realize that your site could do with a little more traffic than it usually gets. After all, getting a lot of traffic is important if you want to make money blogging. The good news here is that you don’t need to be familiar with complex, highly technical SEO methods just to improve your site’s stats. Instead, all you need is to make a few tweaks to your blogging strategy to achieve some very noticeable results. Here’s a list of the best methods that will help you give your site’s traffic an extra push:
1. Get out there and socialize!
If you want your blog to be visited by other people, you’ll have to do a lot of house-calls yourself – to other blogs, that is. Shoot for blogs that concentrate on the same niche as yours, since the people who are already visiting that site are likely to be interested in what you have to say about their favorite topic, too. Drop a well-composed comment that’s relevant to the post you’ve chosen, and don’t forget to leave a link back to your site’s URL at the bottom of your comment.
You can also link to other sites as a means of getting more traffic. More often than not, these blogs will link back to you (unless they’re the larger, more successful blogs), therefore opening up your site to their own visitors and network.
Forum boards are also a good venue to plug your site in subtle ways. Participate actively in discussions that you have some good knowledge of, and make sure that your contributions are informative and helpful. Don’t forget to leave a link to your site in one of your messages or in your signature!
2. Fan out your work to article directories:
Article directories are a great way to spread your work, cement your credibility through your articles, and get backlinks from other sites. Places like eZine Articles and Buzzle are a great place to send your articles to, since they have a lot of users and your articles – which should come with a link to your blog — are sure to find an audience there. Take note, however, that these services exact some very strict rules: there’s always a minimum word count for submissions, and some topics are just taboo.
3. Write better posts
There’s no way around this: when it comes to gaining significantly more site traffic, the best method is still to create the best content you can come up with. Nothing’s a better crowd-drawer than a blog post that’s well-written, filled to the brim with useful information, and completely relevant to the needs of your readers and target market.
Remember, profitable blogging isn’t just about flirting with search engine spiders and bookmarking like a fiend. Instead, to make money blogging, you have to show your visitors that your site is worth a visit, that it has more to offer than general knowledge and a nice blog design. Once your readers find that your blog aims to offer them nothing but first-rate information that works to their benefit, your traffic will take care of itself, expanding naturally on account of your credibility.

3 Steps To Optimize Blog Post
March 1st, 2009
For many bloggers, they fail to realize how important search engine traffic can be because they do not understand how important SEO optimizing their blog is. This is one reason you’ll see so many bloggers fail to earn money online.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. Your blog post could be SEO friendly in just three easy steps. With these 3 simple steps can increase traffic which can make the difference between a blog that makes the owner virtually no income or a blog that is an instrument for additional income.
Follow the advice below to SEO optimize every article you upload and start reaping the rewards of free traffic from search engines.
To start with, you should make sure your article addresses are SEO optimized. With free blogs like BlogSpot, this is automatically done for you. WordPress blogs need a little work. If you use the WordPress blogging platform, then you’ll need to set your url structure so that WordPress will produce optimized url’s when you create a blog entry.
All you have to do in WordPress is to click on the Permalinks tab, and check the button next to the Custom field. Then you’ll put a percentage sign followed by the words Postname. {Immediately after the words postname, Now} add another percentage sign. You’ve now ensured that all your post will have optimized urls.
The best tip to optimizing your blog is to put your main keyword in the Title. Let’s say you’re blogging about ways to earn extra cash, then make sure these keywords are in the Title of your blog. Don’t put something like Johns Blog. By using the keywords in the Title, then you’ll rank higher than if you name it Johns Blog.
The next requirement is to write your keywords in the Post’s title. If you’re trying to lure people to click on your post about using Ebay to to make a living online, then put the keywords in the post title. Forget about using non relevant titles like How I Make Money With Auctions. If you do this, the search engines will have trouble determining what your post is about and the search engine traffic you need won’t appear. This is especially important if you’re trying to make money with Adsense.
If you’ll use these 3 easy to follow tips, you will be helping the Search Engines determine what your post and blog are about. By taking a little extra time and making it easy for them to determine what your post and blog are about, they’ll rank you higher than a non-optimized blog.
Building links to each of your optimized post is the last step in dominating the search engine rankings with your blog post. Ahh, but link building is a whole nother article that has to be saved for later. First, get acquainted optimizing your own blog and blog post.

Review of Blogging to the Bank by Rob Benwell
January 22nd, 2009
Rob Benwell is perhaps the most successful blogger on the internet today. The proof is that Blogging to the Bank is up to it’s 3rd version in only two years.Rob really does update Blogging to the Bank on a regular basis to ensure that you are getting the lastest information to build you blog into one that generates money.
The great aspect of Blogging to the Bank is that it is for everyone. If you already have blogs that are struggling to earn even a few dollars a month, or if you are just starting out you can pick up Rob Benwell’s program and fast track your way to generating traffic and income.
Blogging to the Bank contains comprehensive techniques to generate traffic. But that is just the start Rob goes through the complete road map and calls it “The BluePrint of a Blogging Millionaire.”
Perhaps the best aspect I liked about this guide is that Rob not only shows you how to make ongoing money with a blog, but importantly shows you once you have a successful blog up and running that you also have the option to SELL the blog for six figures or more! A lot of other guides I have reviewed missed this aspect.
Selling your blog is a fantastic way to make money. Some people do not always like the aspect of having to constantly update their blog sites. But are experts in setting up blogs to ensure maximum revenue and traffic. While this is not a complete site flipping guide Rob does have specific information about this little known technique.
Think of it as building a basic a house and reselling. You create the site and sell it for huge profits. You can even purchase other people's blogs that have done a poor job, fix them with the techniques you learn in this guide and re-sell for massive profits! You need to think of you blog as an online asset.
Another aspect that is missed by blogging guides is the importance of email list building. Most guides fail to understand why list building is still a key aspect to make money EVEN when you have a blog. Most people assume that since I have a blog site and update regularly and has an RSS feed I do not need to have an opt-in strategy. Blogging to the Bank goes into detail as to why this is important and a key source of your income.
What about if you do not have a blog and don’t know where to get started? Don't worry, Blogging to the Bank really caters to the novice with specific strategies on selecting the correct niche that will ensure you can make money. It is important however to understand that you need a niche that YOU are interested in. I think that is one aspect Rob misses in this guide.
If you have no interest in the niche that you are blogging about it is going to eventually turn into a grind and this will come across in the content that you produce. This aspect of blogging can be a whole topic in itself, perhaps Rob will update it in Blogging to the Bank 4! It is important to have a passion about your blogs topic. As someone that has followed Rob Benwell's techniques, where I have had a personal interest in that niche my income has been 2-3 times greater. Simply because I did more, created more content, worked harder to get traffic and generally enjoyed blogging more.
Result, I got greater benefit. It is not just about selecting profitable niches. The key is a niche that is profitable AND you have an interest in.
For people that are also new, or even for those that already have blogs, Rob goes into specific SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques to generate traffic and ensure you have high rankings in search engines. Updated for version 3, Rob explores specific Web 2.0 traffic generating techniques.Article marketing was still the main method of traffic generation and I had not really considered social bookmarking and social sites.
Rob showed me what I was missing out on. Think more then MySpace or Facebook here.I was also introduced to many other websites that assisted in generating hundreds of visitors to my blog and other sites through the techniques.
The basics of creating your blog. While this seems like a trivial point, it is perhaps one of the keys to ensuring your success. Sites such as Blogger and Typepad are great platforms and allow novice users that simply want a personal blog to get up and running very quickly.
But if you want to make money blogging, Rob goes into the specifics why owning your blog with your OWN domain name is a key to success. Rob even walks through the basics of how to register a domain and select a host provider. You might think this is hard, but you will find it easy and only takes a few minutes to set-up.
These are the main points that I personally appreciated from Blogging to the Bank, Rob Benwell is thanked on a daily basis for the assistance and techniques he teaches people on how to make money online. If this is something you have struggled with or are looking to start a blog then Blogging to the Bank is a complete comprehensive guide.

Making Money is Easy with Hubpages
October 27th, 2008
The keen internet marketer needs to know about hubpages. Lets look at how you can make make money online with Hubpages. Hubpages is similar to Squidoo, but is currently looking like a better bet for making money on a long term basis.
Hubpages provides authors with a number of money making options. The key to making money on hubpages is writing useful content. If you just add PLR and generic sales pitches you will get nowhere on hubpages. Making money on hubpages is straightforward :so long as you play by the rules.
You need to actually add content that’s useful to people. Your best chance of ranking for that content in Google is via hubpages. The site enjoys great authority with Google - probably because of the quality of content. Hubs aren’t just articles though. Adding videos and images is easy on hubpages and you should do so. You can also add RSS and news feeds which are useful for keeping your hub continually updating.
Hubpages keep their content quality high through a number of mechanisms. They penalise duplicate content. There is a vibrant community who will actively flag spammers and their hubs.
There are three ways to make money online with Hubpages. Directly through their revenue sharing programs and via promoting your own sites.
The transparent revenue sharing scheme gives the author 60%, hubpages 40%. You need to register for Adsense, Amazon and eBay in order to benefit from this.
In addition you can promote your own sites. But make sure you read the Hubpages TOS and stick to them. You can only have 2 out-going links to the same “self-serving” site. You must run Adsense on any hub which has self-serving links.
The third way to make money with hubpages is by signing up affiliates. If an author signs up with your affiliate tracker (called a url tracker at hubpages) you will get 10% of their earnings (from hubpages.com share, this doesn’t affect their income).

Make Money Blogging with Fresh Content that keeps Visitors Happy
October 23rd, 2008
For those who are hoping to make money blogging and are busy developing the web content to be featured on the blog, one of the most important things to keep in mind is simplicity in website development. Today, more and more internet visitors want to find good quality and dynamic web content that provides the information they are looking for, while keeping them engaged.
Dynamic content has proven to be one of the most important elements in not only getting targeted traffic to a website, but also in encouraging them back to the site again and again. Webmasters across the board agree that it is much better to provide the things that web visitors want so that they come back rather than constantly trying to find new traffic. It is much easier to make money blogging when your blog attracts repeat visitors as its estimated a site visitor often needs to see read your sales pitch around seven times before they will buy a product.
Dynamic web content is not only of great importance to site visitors, but it is also a key element in how the search engines value the content and place the page in the search engine ranking pages, or SERPs. The major search engines all place a lot of value on content that is not only fresh and relevant, but also on content that is user generated as well.
Because of the above facts, having dynamic content throughout a website or blog can weigh heavily in favor of a site that is diligently trying to make the most of search engine marketing. Good SEO (search engine optimization), combined with great web content that is regularly updated, is a powerful combination that can improve your potential to make money blogging dramatically.
Ranking high in the search engines for specific keywords that are directly related to the topic and purpose of a website is an essential internet marketing strategy and one of the cheapest ways to assure a steady stream of visitors, without having to go to the expense of advertising your site. At the same time, once visitors arrive at a site that is filled with dynamic content that provides the kind of info they are after, they are more likely to bookmark the site, subscribe to your rss feed, or subscribe to your email auto responders that provides additional free web content on the topic they are interested in.
One key to generating dynamic content that visitors enjoy and benefit from and that the search engines are attracted to is to provide a way for visitors to interact and add to the content. Allowing your blog visitors to leave comments about your posts will encourage open debate between your visitors. This encourages them to return to check other comments plus the search engines love the fact that your posts are forever changing and growing with more content.
Blogging software, such as WordPress, can serve as an excellent web content management system, which is very well-suited for a site that is rich in dynamic web content. WordPress blogs are easy to set up, add content to and manage comments from users, all from an easy to use control panel. Blogs make website development so easy that even a webmaster with a new website can soon make money blogging.
