Some people sell products from other website owners while others sell products and services that they offer. Regardless of what your online business model is, we need to drive tons of traffic to our website. You don’t just want any traffic - what you want is targeted and buying visitors.
In the early days of my internet marketing career, I learned about many techniques on traffic generation. Some of the software or services that I bought did me no good.
Listed below are the three traffic generation techniques that I found most effective:
* Placement of Links
Linking can be by either paid or unpaid methods. Adding links in e-zines or in other websites are some examples of paid linking methods. Make sure you need the traffic from that source before buying advertising space to make the most out of your money. In most cases, if ezines are accepting advertising, you know they must have at least 500+ subscribers, or I should say, be sure that they have at least 500+ subscribers before advertising in their ezine.
Creating articles is one way of placing links for free . This requires hard work on your part, but the return will be seen in the long term. Keep in mind, your articles should be relevant and address the subject matter of your site and products.
* Pay-Per-Click
If you have some advertising budget, it makes sense to put it in pay per click. Here you create an ad or ads relevant to your affiliate program, and place a bid on the keywords you select. This method can be quite tedious but there are software programs to help you like the ones used in the google secret loophole program. I would advise that you read your affiliate programs and pay per click rules before doing pay per click.
* Website Optimization
This involves targeting a particular keyword and optimizing your website for that particular keyword. Although you get free traffic with SEO, optimizing your website can be time consuming.
These are traffic generation tactics that are the most effective.

Yahoo Search Engine optimization

Why Optimize for Yahoo? According to recent study, all of the searches done through search engines, around 25% of searches are done through Yahoo. That means, if your site is not coming up on Yahoo, you lose 25 percent of your potential visitors. Until February 2004, Yahoo used Google results. So, Google optimizing was enough to get a top rank on Yahoo. As of 17th February 2004 , Yahoo dropped Google results and instead showed search results using Inktomi algorithm. Yahoo’s shift made optimizing for Yahoo inevitable.

Search engine optimization Keyword Density The new Yahoo search engine gives more importance to keyword density. A site with high key phrease density may fare well in Yahoo. The average keyword counts that seem to work are as follows:
Title Tag - 15% to 20%: Yahoo displays the title tag content in its result page. Therefore, write the title as a readable sentence. A catchy title will attract the reader to come to your Website. Body Text - 3%: Boldfacing the keywords sometimes boosts the page’s ranking. But, be careful not to be awkward to the readers. Too much of boldfaced content irritates readers. META Tags - 3%: In META description and Keyword tags, provide important keywords at the beginning. Do not use the keywords repeatedly in the Keyword tag, because Yahoo may consider it Spamming. Write the description tag in header in a readable sentence.
Inbound Links/Back Links Yahoo considers inbound links highly important. Inbound links are the links from other sites pointing to your site. Having considerable links, with appropriate link texts, from quality sites increases your site’s ranking in Yahoo.
Static Pages VS Dynamic Pages sam as most other search engines Yahoo prefers static pages to dynamic pages. Sometimes, Yahoo may fail to index dynamic pages. Therefore, consider the following tips to ensure that Yahoo indexes all your web pages:
Have static pages with keyword-rich content; it increases the rank of your site on Yahoo If you have some important dynamic pages, prepare a site map or quick links section with links to all the Web pages. This would help the Yahoo spider to craw all your pages. Frames for most of the search engines, particularly Yahoo , hates frames. Avoid using frames on your site, as Yahoo spider also most search engine’s spiders find it difficult to crawl them.
The sure-shot solution to rank high on yahoo is simply getting plenty of back links from quality sites, and then having copious keywords in the title, META, body text, and alt tags. Because Yahoo holds the 25% share of the Internet search users, it is prudent to have your Web pages optimized for Yahoo. Promote Your Blog With The Power of Article Marketing

I have been using a new blog posting service, and so far I am impressed with the results and the features.
I have so far submitted 9 articles in 3 days, and they have been placed on a total of 40 sites total between them already. If I can keep doing 2 or 3 articles a day, this will be very viral.
The system has a built in article spinning system in place. You just paste in your article and title, keywords, and maybe a youtube video, and once you save it as draft, you can start using the automated spinner.
The auto spinner gives you a sentence from your post, and it gives you 10 more places to input alternate sentences. Using this and just giving each sentence a new sentence, each timeyour article is spun, it is over 100% unique or spun. Some of my articles are over 300% spun.
The real power is when you edit the spinning manually, alternating between words inside your sentences. You also get another level of spinning that lets you substitute words for one another inside each of the sentences being spun, giving you even more uniqueness for each blog post, all with your 3 links.
The articles you submit will be treated like a blog post instead of an article. There’s no authors box, and your able to place up to 3 links in each article, and if you change keywords in your spun text, you can do some deep linking with this system.
On the other side of the coin, you can add as many of your own sites to receive articles, you have full control over whether they get published or not, you just have to leave the links intact. But the neat thing is when you approve an article, youget a chance to leave feedback to the author anonymously. I think this is a great feature, unlike the other article network, I was able to let 1 author know that his titles weren’t coming out so great (bad spinning, his fault), and I asked another author for a specific keyworded article for one of my sites.
Whether or not they get my messages remains to be seen, but this system is really looking good for article marketing, you can use it for backlinks, or just put in your affiliate links, its up to you. I have tried to use a mix of both, since I have 3 links per post.
I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to gain more exposure and traffic through blog posting and article marketing.
