Maximize Benefits with an Article Directory

September 12th, 2009

An article directory is defined as an online site wherein you can aquire, at no cost, tons of articles on many topics. Most of these sites are arranged by subject matter, which allows users to find exactly what they are looking for. For example, if you are looking for articles about health and fitness, you need only click on the subject “health and fitness” or “exercise.” From there the article directory will often display a number of sub-subjects where you will likely find the specific article you are looking for.

Businesses

Article directories have become an effective and inexpensive way for businesses to promote their products. Most article directories will allow writers to have a link to that product.Companies will ask writers to place the link of their company product on that article. {This gives users of the article directory the ability to click on these links if they want more information about the product discussed in the article.} As article directories continue to grow in popularity, more and more companies are hiring writers to submit articles for them.

Writers

For writers, article directories can provide a steady stream of income and the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping people with the information you provide. You can work from home and set your own schedule. Each piece that your submit to an article directory should be professionally written and well-researched. So not only will you make some extra money, you will also end up learning something useful in the process.

If you think you’d be interested in writing for an article directory, first, you must check out a few websites and select the best one for what you require. The key is to find a company that wants you to author the articles they need. These businesses look for quality article writers from freelance writing places. The companies will ask the writers to write about the benefits of the products they sell. They will also ask to place a link of that product on the article. But many of them will stress that fact that they do not want these articles to sound like advertisements. These articles will be submitted to an article directory and these directories are providing their users with information not a commercial. Therefore, it is always a wise move to stay away from catchy slogans or marketing jargon and just explain the benefits of the product and in positive, not glowing terms in your web content.

Article Directories Can Be Great For Link Building

September 8th, 2009

Using an article directory to market your articles is a great way to get backlinks and additionally market your brand and image.  One thing you do not want to do is to spam a bunch of poorly written articles all over the net, or articles that make no sense but have backlinks to your site.  This usually backfires in the long run, and makes anyone reading it far far less likely to ever click on the link and visit your site.No clickthu leads to no conversions for anything you might be trying to accomplish.

Make sure you write and submit a quality article, because most article directories have manual screening methods to filter out junk that is not up to speed. This results in a ton of spam and junk getting rejected - and your article too, if you do not take care when writing it.  Keep in mind the target audience for your article for each article directory and it will help you write it in the best manner.

You should have a list of five to seven article directories to submit to for each article you write.  In addition, if you get some software to assist you, you can spin each article into maybe 10 individual articles that are uniquely different and get more mileage out of each article.  Basically “spinning” allows a computer to substitute sentences on output so it might have an A, a B and a C choice for each sentence.  It mixes and matches randomly.

The more articles you write, the more backlinks you will get to your site.  In addition, the quality article directories will have decent page rankings which is always a big help in and of itself. Some article directories have become a hub for other sites looking for content - this is an added bonus to using them.

Article Directories Help To Get Backlinks

June 27th, 2009

Any website owner who starts down the path of internet marketing will soon discover how many "guru's" are out there all claiming some secret trick to boost your search engine rankings.  The reality is there are a few things to really pay attention to, but most of it really comes down to hard work.  Depending on what keywords you want to rank for, you can achieve success in a week or 2 or it may take months of hard work to get any results.

Asisde from basic webpage SEO stuff to make sure everything is done correctly, the biggest single factor still in your rankings is the number of links and where they come from.  The PR(page rank) of the site linking to you is important, as is the content on that site.  Recipricol links used to work really well (you link me, I link you) but now its really downplayed by Google as a valid method of links.

The easiest way to get links is through article marketing. This is not the path of the least work, it is the best path to get good, long term results.  The setup is simple:

  1. Do some keyword research on your topic.  Pick 2-4 keywords you will focus on.  Make sure they get decent search volume but do not go after stuff that is too generic (meaning it will have unusually large seached volume) - those will be way too hard to rank on in a reasonable time.
  2. Plan on writing 10 - 12 articles of 300-400 words each, using 2 of the keywords with links to your site in each article, with no more than 3 links per article total.  Use the keyword as your link, not http:// type.
  3. Publish 4 of the articles on a major article directory that has good ranking such as Ezine Articles or ArticlesBase.  These have human reviewers so it will take a bit of time to get your article published.Luckily they do not require unique posts that are exclusive, so while you are waiting for their approval you can get it posted elsewhere as well.
  4. Make sure you get some software that helps to spin the article content and links.  Basically spinning allows you to subsitute words and sentences for one another so that you can get a different article from the same basic article.  DO NOT try to use rewriting software - I have seen none that do a decent job - usually it reads like garbage and that will not help your rankings.  If you spin an article right, you can easilly get 10-20 different reading articles from a single article, enough to not worry about duplicate content out there (and possible penalties).
  5. The next step is to mass distribute your articles to sites looking for great content.  You can do this manually for free, or find some tools to purchase that can greatly speed this up.  I usually choose to pay some money in the savings of time.  There are so many things to do, you have to trade off somewhere.  You want to make sure you spread out the distribution - its unnatural for any site to go from no links to 500 links in 1 day - what is more natural is 0 to 10 to 18 to 25 to 40 … over many weeks build the level up.
  6. You should start tracking where you rank on the few keywords you have chosen.  After you have about 300 or so links you should start to get decent ranking.  Some keywords that are not as competitive, much less, and of course, some it might take thousands.Your goal on most keywords should be to get into the top 10-15 in ranking, number 1 is nice but sometimes the effort needed to keep and hold it is not worth it.
  7. In addition to the article work, you can also use social media accounts to link to each of the articles you publish AND also to your main web site. You will also want to make at least one squidoo lens about your site and then use it to link to your site.

Sites all want fresh content on them to improve their quality score.  Most look to articles about their niche topic to keep the viewer on the site and get better ranking.  This is exactly why article marketing works - you get links on disribution sites, webmasters get to search for content to add to their site from what is published.

Promote Your Blog With The Power of Article Marketing

April 19th, 2009

I have been using a new blog posting  service, and so far I am impressed with the results and the features.

I have so far submitted 9 articles in 3 days, and they have been placed on a total of 40 sites total between them already. If I can keep doing 2 or 3 articles a day, this will be very viral.

The system has a built in article spinning system in place. You just paste in your article and title, keywords, and maybe a youtube video, and once you save it as draft, you can start using the automated spinner.

The auto spinner gives you a sentence from your post, and it gives you 10 more places to input alternate sentences. Using this and just giving each sentence a new sentence, each timeyour article is spun, it is over 100% unique or spun. Some of my articles are over 300% spun.

The real power is when you edit the spinning manually, alternating between words inside your sentences. You also get another level of spinning that lets you substitute words for one another inside each of the sentences being spun, giving you even more uniqueness for each blog post, all with your 3 links.

The articles you submit will be treated like a blog post instead of an article. There’s no authors box, and your able to place up to 3 links in each article, and if you change keywords in your spun text, you can do some deep linking with this system.

On the other side of the coin, you can add as many of your own sites to receive articles, you have full control over whether they get published or not, you just have to leave the links intact. But the neat thing is when you approve an article, youget a chance to leave feedback to the author anonymously. I think this is a great feature, unlike the other article network, I was able to let 1 author know that his titles weren’t coming out so great (bad spinning, his fault), and I asked another author for a specific keyworded article for one of my sites.

Whether or not they get my messages remains to be seen, but this system is really looking good for article marketing, you can use it for backlinks, or just put in your affiliate links, its up to you. I have tried to use a mix of both, since I have 3 links per post.

I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to gain more exposure and traffic through blog posting and article marketing.

Join MyArticleNetwork Here , you can even submit posts for a month and if you don’t like it, you can request a full refund, and all your posts that are already out there will still be there.

4 Things All Articles Must Have - Don’t Forget!

January 11th, 2009

The 4 Things You Need to Have in Your Website Articles!

The importance of having articles in websites today, is vital for all internet marketers to be successful. They dictate a lot toward the success and the drive of traffic into one’s site. They are also an important part of your site, in regards to making a profit. A website operator and owner must have the good sense to include articles in his or her site, that will work for them and earn them the many benefits that can come from articles.

Articles have been known to be the driving force in generating traffic to a website. Articles are a factor in giving site high rankings on search result pages. To get the best traffic, you will need to rank as high as you can, on the search engine listing. With a huge number in traffic flow, there are more profits and more potential for other income generating schemes as well.

However, there are certain standards you must follow, in order to be successful. These requirements must be met to obtain the maximum benefits that an article will provide for your site. A well written article will catch the eyes and interest of your customers and keep them coming back for more. By enticing them in this way, they will be more willing to recommend your site to others.

The following tips will help you as you develop the articles you use.

1. Keywords and Keyword Phrases.

An article must always be centered on the keywords and keyword phrases. People, will usually visit websites to either browse around, or they are looking for specific topics of interest to them. As they search the web they can type in a keyword into their favorite search engine for such things as; e.g.: Home and Garden, Family Activities; Weddings or anything else they are interested in.

The Important thing is that you have an article that has the keywords that are related to your site. For example, if you maintain an auto parts site, you must be able to have articles about cars and their parts. There are many tools on the internet that provides service in helping a webmaster out in determining, what keywords and keyword phrases are mostly sought out. These resources will help you determine the keywords to use in your article.

2. Keyword Density

After you determine which keywords and keyword phrases you will be using, you will need to make sure to maximize their usage. An article must have good keyword density for a search engine to “feel”, its presence.

You will need to have around 10% - 15% of keyword density to get the attention of search engines, before they will begin to move you up in ranking. Getting a high rank is what articles do best for a site.

Keyword density is the number of times a keyword or keyword phrase is used in article. Of course, the number of times you can use them, will depend on the size of the article. An effective article must have a keyword density that is not too high or too low. If you use them too much you can loose article structure quality, and then you run the risk of appearing overeager, which is a turn off to readers or even to the search engines.

But if you do not use enough keywords, then the search engines may not pick up your article.

3. Good Articles

Like what is stated above, you cannot just riddle an article with keywords. They must also be regarded as good reading materials. It is important to provide useful information on what people are researching, as well as, be interesting enough to keep their attention. Well written articles will be done in good grammar and with correctly spelled words. If you want people to trust you, make your work good and well thought out.

People respond well to figures, facts and statistics. Try to get great information and as many facts as you can. You should make it a goal to be an expert on your chosen topic and to portray that in your article. As more people believe in you, they will be able to trust you and your products.

4. Linking Articles

If you are going to submit your article to ezines, or add your article to newsletters or other sites, it is crucial that you remember to ALWAYS include a link back to your webpage site.

Have a little resource box with a brief description of your site and it should always be placed right after the articles that you have submitted. If people like your articles, they will most likely click on the link directing them to your site.

How Important Is Article Marketing

December 24th, 2008

For several decades the TV and print advertising dominated the scene, but this has drastically changed today with the emergence of new technologies thus new trends. But with the emergence of the Internet and online businesses, the need for an effective promotional material has drastically changed also. There is now the need to educate people and impart information aside from flashing banner ads or short text advertising. Thus, the article marketing campaign is born.

The online competition is steep. Online business owners need all the traffic they can get just to turn out few actual customers. And, gathering website visitors is what article marketing is really good at. And it gets even better because if you have the proper background and ample time to spare, you could even do the entire marketing campaign by yourself free of cost.

Unlike TV or print ads, article marketing campaign can bring you customers in steady stream for a long, long time. When you publish your article on article directories, it doesn’t get deleted. Online article directories archive the older articles, which is still accessible by readers, instead of deleting them. So your archived articles still have the potential to invite visitors to your site. That’s when Article marketing ends paying off for website owners and online business managers.

Articles are also accessible 24/7. When they are properly optimized, they have a chance to appear on search results, and the power of building website traffic is there.

At the end of the day, an online business has different needs for advertising compared to an offline business. To get more people to visit your site, let alone make your site known on the Web, you have to share what you know about your niche to your potential customers first. That is why you need to employ article marketing because its main aim is to educate people. The number of visits you get through the resource box you place at the end of your article is only secondary to the thought of helping people online first.

Article Directory Submission Guide

December 12th, 2008

Submitting articles to article directories is always beneficial to an online businessman or woman with products or services to sell over the Web.  The only cost for this kind of marketing project is your time and, if you want the maximum benefits, the amount you pay your proofreader/editor.

Many people are overwhelmed by the article submission process and don’t know where to begin.  I have outlined below the ten steps I take with each article submission project.  Having a process in place makes organizing submissions so much easier and removes the confusion of where or what to do first.

1.Proofread your articles first before submitting to article directories.  Make sure you have a catchy title and a by-line that compels readers to take action.

2.  Use a text to html tool to format your by-line so that your URL will appear live when your article is posted on a site.

3.  Collect the information you’ll need for most submission sites including:  title, author name, address, phone number, e-mail, website URL, topic, two line summary of the article, word count, line count, article URL, auto responder address (if available), document file names and 12-17 keywords.

4.  Make a list of the type of submission sites appropriate for your article.

5.  Begin submitting to sites that accept articles by e-mail. Never send an attachment unless asked.  Incorporate the entire article into the e-mail and include an option for the recipient to opt-out of your list.

6.Sign-up to submission sites that needs registration before you can proceed.  Typically, you have to wait for a confirmation e-mail before submitting. Finish your registration on the other sites while waiting for the confirmation email.

7.  Submit to all sites you have registered for and to all sites not needing registration but offering a submission form, remember that this is key for a a smart an article marketing strategy.

8.  Check your e-mail, confirm your new accounts and visit those sites to add your article.  Keep track of your login and password for each site.

9.  Update your submission list by removing or correcting bounced e-mail addresses and URL errors. Update your list of article submission sites as soon as you find relevant one.

10. Create a report to keep on your computer with the name and URL of the sites you used for submission.  Update this list when you submit your older articles to newly discovered sites.

Create your own submission process by building on the steps I have provided and you will find your submissions taking less time while helping you to become more organized.
